The First Meeting of Our Faculty's Advisory Board for the Term was Held Under the Chairmanship of Our Dean Prof. Dr. Cahit KÜLEKÇİ

The Advisory Board of Yalova University Faculty of Theology convened on November 06, 2025, in the faculty meeting room. Chaired by Dean Prof. Dr. Cahit Külekçi, the meeting discussed the accreditation process, the change of the faculty's name, and new courses to be added to the curriculum.

At the opening of the meeting, it was shared that the faculty's name was registered as "Yalova University Faculty of Theology" by Presidential Decree and that the board would continue its work under this name.

The main agenda item of the meeting was the field visits to be carried out by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Within the scope of the accreditation process, it was agreed that student representatives and faculty students would be informed in detail about the process.

"Cyber Security" and "Combating Addiction" Courses Added to the Curriculum

At the meeting, in line with the suggestions of external stakeholders, it was decided to add new elective courses to the education curriculum to meet current needs. In this context;

1. With the suggestion of Ahmet Bek, Chief Commissioner of Yalova Provincial Police Department, External Stakeholder Representative of the Advisory Board, the courses "Cyber Security-1" and "Cyber Security-2",

2. With the suggestion of Sümeyye Yanık Doğan, Deputy Provincial Director of Yalova Family and Social Services, External Stakeholder Representative of the Advisory Board, the course "Combating Addiction",

It was agreed that these courses would be taught as elective courses starting from the Spring Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year. It was also discussed that these courses would be given by the relevant expert personnel of the institutions.

The meeting concluded with the wish to reconvene in the spring semester.
