Dr. Assistant Professor M. Latif Bakış Represented Our University at the International Symposium

The fourth International Symposium on Turkish Language Teaching and Turcology in the Balkans, organized under the leadership of the Turkish Maarif Foundation in cooperation with various institutions and universities, was held this year in Konya. Dr. M. Latif Bakış, one of the faculty members of our faculty, contributed to the symposium with a paper titled “Migration, Identity and Language: The Philosophical and Sociolinguistic Importance of Turkish Language Teaching in the Balkans.” Dr. Bakış, who also chaired other sessions, critically evaluated the importance of the Turkish and Muslim populations living in the Balkan geography using Turkish more effectively in the context of belonging, identity formation, cultural and existential continuity. Bakış also addressed the problems caused by current sociopolitical processes and contributed to the important organization by bringing concrete solution proposals.
